Serious Side Effects (Rare)

Hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions. These reactions can occur days after administration. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include:

Preconditions

Precondition Description
Hypersensitivity Patients with a history of any allergic reaction to Qulipta should not take the drug.
Renal Impairment Dosing modifications are necessary for patients with severe renal impairment, and Qulipta is generally not recommended for patients with end-stage renal disease (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min).
Liver Problems Patients with pre-existing liver problems should inform their healthcare provider.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding The effects of Qulipta on pregnancy have not been clinically evaluated. Patients who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding should discuss this with their healthcare provider, who may recommend joining a pregnancy registry like the Empress Pregnancy Registry to monitor outcomes.
Cardiovascular Conditions Clinical experts have advised caution for patients with a history of stroke or other cardiac diseases.
Concomitant Medications Qulipta should not be used in combination with other calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) inhibitors (either oral or injectable). Dosing adjustments may also be necessary when used with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors due to potential drug interactions that can decrease atogepant exposure and reduce efficacy.
